A 204 MW wind energy project has been awarded to Suzlon by Serentica Renewables, a developer of renewable energy solutions. "Suzlon Group has bagged a significantly large order for its 3 MW series of wind turbines from Serentica Renewables, a decarbonization platform that seeks to accelerate the energy transition for energy-intensive industries," according to a company release. The cost of the project, however, was kept a secret by the corporation. For Serentica's upcoming 204 MW wind power project in Koppal in Karnataka, Suzlon will install 68 wind turbine generators (WTGs) with a Hybrid Lattice Tubular (HLT) tower with a rated capacity of 3 MW
each. Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman of the Suzlon Group, "This order from industrial decarbonization player, Serentica Renewables is a testament of India Inc.'s commitment to our nation's net-zero ambitions." By the beginning of 2024, the project is anticipated to be operational. A project of this size can reduce annual CO2 emissions by 6.63 lakh tonnes while supplying electricity to 1,6800 households.
Suzlon will supply the wind turbines (equipment supply) and carry out the project, including erection and commissioning, as part of the deal. This is the fifth order for the 3-MW series that Suzlon has received in less than a month. Additionally, Suzlon will offer complete post-commissioning operation and maintenance services. According to Pratik Agarwal, Director of Serentica Renewables, "This partnership with Suzlon for our renewable energy project in Karnataka represents a milestone in our industrial decarbonization journey."
Serentica Renewables (India), a decarbonization platform founded in 2022, aims to offer 24/7 renewable energy solutions to help large, energy-intensive companies make the switch to sustainable energy. By making renewables the main source of energy for the commercial and industrial sector, which consumes more than 50% of the electricity generated in India, the company is concentrating on industrial decarbonization.
