How do you see the Colorants manufacturing in India? What are the major factors that have been driving the market’s growth?
India has a well-established and mature colorants market. In the pigments space more specifically, India is a world leader in the field of Phthalocyanine Pigments. This category of pigments by volume is the largest kind of pigment manufactured and consumed globally. These pigments offer excellent heat and light fastness to a wide range of industries and are primarily manufactured in India and China in the present day. In addition to the finished pigments product basket, we also have a large market share in the pigments intermediate space (CPC), which we manufacture in our own manufacturing facilities.

Please walk us through the complete cycle of your client engagement process, right from understanding their specific requirements to delivering the product and offering support services.
Since ours’ is a B2B Business so there is a lot of effort goes into onboarding a new customer. Our R&D and QC Departments work in close contact with the customer to match the specifications required by them. Colour is also a subjective matter and hence parameters like shade and tone requirements vary from customer to customer. Our entire Quality and Production teams are very sensitive to any changes in production and maintaining consistency is of paramount importance. After-sales support is also very key and any Quality complaints are taken up very seriously and often go right up to the highest levels of the organization if required.
Tell us about your team’s expertise. How is your combined experience helping the firm to grow?
We have a great mix of the old and the new within the organization. On one hand, we rely upon the combined experience and faithfulness of many of our senior employees across verticals who have been with the company for over 2 decades. At the same time, we are mindful of routinely infusing fresh blood into the company with top talent from some of the best institutions in the country. We value the diversity of our management team and within the organization.
What is the future roadmap of your company? Are you working on any innovations or up-gradations of your products?
We are in the finishing stages of setting up a new greenfield facility in our wholly owned subsidiary Bhabani Colors which when fully commissioned will increase our current manufacturing base by threefold and is expected to triple our current top line. This is also a very ambitious project since it is going to be the world’s most advanced facility in terms of the ‘Sustainability’ aspect. Our new plant has been designed on the Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) principle and will be the first plant of this scale in the world to work on this principle. We are relying upon our strong R&D and technological breakthroughs which are unique to us to be able to embark upon this futuristic project.
