The development of indigenous technologies, their rapid deployment and entrepreneurship are of paramount importance when we talk about self-reliance or Aatmnirbharta. While experts are researching in academia and industries are developing various technologies for commercialization, there is always a need for a one-stop solution to bring them together on a platform and ensure that their needs are delivered within the stipulated deadlines. This is where the gap lies in the services as most of the knowledge transfer organizations struggle to provide extensive research for multiple purposes and manage Intellectual Property Rights and more at one go.
Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT) is an industry interface organization at IIT Delhi that is conducting knowledge transfer activities and providing superior programs or project management services for the last 30 years. The company associates its R&D capacity with IIT Delhi which is already well-known for its R&D capability. This allows them to deliver research outcomes on multiple facets and for multiple purposes at once.
The organization provides end-to-end services to the faculties from the institutes to protect and manage their intellectual property, to start-ups or entrepreneurs entering any industry in accelerating their product development and business mentoring, and the industry itself when it
requires research and data to optimize their processes, solve their technological challenges and provide validation and standardization. FITT works closely with the industry and is driven by innovation.
Outstanding Operation Abilities
A good internal management process always backs the operations in FITT. The company’s Managing Director, Dr Anil Wali says that one of the primary reasons for FITT to cater to customer expectations is that it is a multi-faceted organization and is a business incubator with unmatched experience in IPR matters and industry collaborations that in turn also helps start-ups. Apart from providing excellence in mandated services, FITT is also indulged in supporting the ecosystem at large in the region.
Apart from the mandate, FITT has been executing larger roles. It manages important programs and is also expanding its footprint in the incubation and research space by operationalizing the Research and Innovation Park. FITT is focusing on supporting innovation in key areas of Biotechnology, Electronics, information technology, material science, chemicals and textiles which are helping a lot of clients to shift to indigenous technologies thereby boosting the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. The Intellectual Property Office supported by National Biopharma Mission caters to a large set of institutions and start-ups to manage their IPR and is mandated to help different states in the Northern part of India.”
