Shivayu is the brainchild of Gp Capt ER Rajappan (Retd) - a highly experienced aviation, aerospace, management and leadership expert providing design and manufacturing of high precision mechanical components for Aerospace, Aviation and Defence Industries. The highly-motivated team at Shivayu collaborates with leading aerospace, aviation and defence industries across the globe for design and manufacture of aerospace, aviation and defence products for Indian as well as global markets. “We wish to leverage the benefits offered under Make in India, NabhNirman and Aerospace & Aviation Skill Development in a significant way,” mentions Rajappan. In the last one year, Shivayu Aerospace has benefitted from the increased demand in the aviation, aerospace and defence industries and the company also aims to grab the Offset Clause opportunity in military aircraft and hardware. The business development and scaling up of the company are in tune with
the projected demand in these sectors in the coming years.
As an AS 9100 and ISO certified and Quality Management System, Shivayu ensures delivery of quality that is at par with international standards. By maintaining high precision and on-time delivery, the company is able to compete with other players in the field. It offers high precision (10 micron) machined parts for aircraft, satellite components and defence equipment using the state-of-the art CNC machines and CAD/CAM services. It presently offers high precision contract manufacturing, aerospace component design & prototyping and CAD/CAM services, amongst others. Presently, Shivayu has few new CNC machines for precision component manufacturing. Procurement of 3D printing and additive manufacturing machines would be a part of its scale up programmes in the future as it plans to create Joint Venture with foreign firms to integrate latest aerospace manufacturing technologies and procure 3D printing and additive manufacturing machines.

Besides, precision component manufacturing services, it provides consultancy services in Engineering & Management as well as Aviation & Aerospace. “We will shortly set up an institute for skilling manpower for Aviation & Aerospace industry under the aegis of the company,” he informs.
The Journey
Shivayu houses a team of highly-experienced defence officers and aerospace engineers with decades of experience along with IIM trained aerospace and management experts. Camaraderie and safety are two paramount pillars of Shivayu Aerospace’s work culture, as in the Armed Forces. Taking baby steps, Shivayu has come a long way from it begun. It further intends to become a leading player in the Indian aviation, aerospace and defence industry. In just one year, the company has received AS 9100 D (International Aerospace Quality Standard) and ISO 9001 (International Quality Management System) and has manufactured variety of aerospace components, defence products and general engineering parts with exceptional quality standards. “In the coming years, we have plans to ramp up our production capacity and diversify the product range in a phased manner. In order to scale up, the important resource requirement is finance. Since we have already achieved break-even and is on the profit trajectory, it is expected that the banks will advance fund for scaling up,” he concludes.
