With the use of spray nozzles or rotating discs, the liquid feed is atomized into small droplets in the spray drying process. In a specially built drying chamber, these small droplets are exposed to heated air. The liquid is vaporized, and the solid particles are collected in dry form at the chamber's bottom. A cyclone separator, bag filter, or wet scrubber is used to separate the tiny particles carried by the air.
