Dead Burnt Magnesite (DBM) is largely consumed as a basic refractory in steel manufacturing. One of the objectives of the National Steel Policy, 2017 is for India to become a net steel exporter by 2025-26. Accordingly, many industry experts believe that there will be growing demand of DBM in the country in the coming years. While talking about their future plans, Yogesh states, “Per capita steel consumption in India is too low (Around 75kg) as compared to the global standard of around 224 kg, and in the coming years, it is going to rise as the roadmap laid out by the National Steel Policy, 2017 seeks to boost the annual production of crude steel in the country from 102 MT (2020-21) to 300 MT by 2030-31.
