Union Ministry to Feature AI Accomplishments in Republic Day Parade

On Republic Day, the Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY) will showcase India's progress this year. The tableau shows the transformative impact of AI in healthcare, logistics, education and energy production.

MeitY, in a statement released on Jan 24, highlighted AI's important role in overcoming traditional barriers to development and promoting broader socio-economic change in India. According to forecasts, AI can contribute up to $967 billion to the Indian economy by 2035.

The focal point of MeitY's tableau is a tractor segment featuring a female robot symbolizing AI in a contemplative pose. This visual representation aims to underscore the positive influence of AI on global citizens. The tractor's base showcases an intricate 3D model of a semiconductor chip, a crucial component in various electronic devices, according to an official statement.

The design of the side circuit, decorated with lights, represents the power AI brings to guide and advance in different sectors. The exhibition also highlights the progress made in India with the electronics manufacturing sector, which has been promoted through initiatives such as PLI. 

Moving on to the trailer, the application of AI in logistics, healthcare and education is demonstrated through beautiful metaphors. The previous section introduces AI and its role in healthcare, with analysis of facial organs and surgical scenarios performed by robotic arms with the help of medical professionals.
