As covid put a hold on a lot of medical procedures including cataract surgeries, which are quite a common phenomenon, a global backlog of 6 million surgeries was created. The pandemic also posed a new challenge and the demand and need for disposable Surgical products was seen. As always, Ovation stood up to the challenge and put its efforts towards increasing production of disposable tools.

Given the importance of eyesight to an individual and even to a country’s economic growth, the need for better eye care facilities was realized by Ovation. As countries expand their healthcare facilities, and newer techniques allow patients to under go eye surgery and recover quickly, more people are now opting to go under the knife if required.
To make services better and easily accessible to all, Ovation produces a number of products which are used in eye surgeries, and they even create custom packages as per the needs of the surgeons. Ovation has a facility in Jaipur, India, wherein they manufacture their products under controlled conditions and maintain utmost cleanliness. They check their raw materials & finished products at various stages during production. After production, all their products are tested for quality assurance, and sterilized before getting packed for shipment.
Inception And Future
Inspired by the works of Sandeep Nagpal, who as early as 1984 worked as an Ophthalmic Pharmaceuticals Sales Representative, the company was established in 1996. The company start¬ed as the need for affordable surgical ophthalmic tools was recognized. “After working in all parts of India with prominent Surgeons he identified the need for quality instruments and started manufacturing of instruments for cataract and most economical for vitreoretinal surgeries which was a substitute to costly imported instruments”.
He was joined in this venture by his son Nipun, who, after completing his masters degree from Germany in International Management, became the export head of the company. With this new shift, Ovation was able to expand its reach to over 40 countries around the globe. Their continual growth in the right direction can be attributed to their focus on providing top-quality products to all their customers at competitive rates, as well as staying connected with their clients to ensure a good relationship, that helps both in flourishing in their respective fields.

With great expansion plans in mind, Ovation has a roadmap set out for themselves, to guide them in their journey further. This roadmap is aimed at developing economical medical devices for the indian market with international standards which India is currently importing, focusing on US, Introducing Nutraceuticals with new delivery systems for old aged patients as well as introducing disposable tools for General Surgery and Gynaecology.
