As quintessential energy is to conduct daily life operations across residential, commercial, industrial, and many other verticals, numerous organisations and countries are constantly attempting to create innovative technologies to meet the fast expanding electrical needs across diverse sectors. Furthermore, with the ever-increasing detrimental greenhouse gas emissions, it is becoming increasingly important to use low-carbon power generation technologies. One such innovative technology is Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) which has been gaining traction to store energy in a more effective way and serve the excessive energy demand. So, when the grid falls down, the value of rapid responding energy storage will be the necessary backbone of commercial and industrial facilities.
Bringing this innovative technology into the picture, Newen Systems in collaboration with Dynapower (US) has been providing battery energy storage systems for both front-of- the-meter and behind-the-meter storage applications as well as standalone microgrids. Newen was carved out of the BESS division of Raychem RPG; a pioneer in energy storage in India. The main focus of Newen when offering energy storage systems is to help clients reduce electricity costs and establish reliable and environmentally friendly backup
power. With this competency, Newen has been successfully catering to its global clients when it comes to meeting their energy storage requirements.
“When we look at our product portfolio, we manufacture bidirectional inverters and converters, as well as Energy Management Systems (EMS). We have also set up a state-of-the-art R&D centre in collaboration with Dynapower in India, wherein, we are continuously working towards bringing the needed innovation in the energy industry. As these products would be manufactured in India itself, we assure best-in-class service deliverability”, says Nitesh Bhutada, Co-Founder & Director at Newen Systems.
Staying Abreast of Latest Technology Advancements
Newen has been using some of the industry's most complex controls, allowing end users to customize how they consume and sell their stored energy. There are safety features in place to protect these storage systems from damage caused by high heat and energy surges, such as battery enclosures with full air conditioning and temperature management, control systems, and fire detection and suppression systems. The company has been consistently upgrading its technology capabilities and the overall technology to bring in the needed innovation in the market today. This has tremendously helped the company to stay abreast of the changing market dynamics.

From a technological point of view, Newen also uses Dynapower's unique Dynamic Transfer technology, which monitors grid stability and disconnects from the grid when a grid disruption is detected, switching the load connection to stand-alone battery backup power mode. In UF mode, the transition to critical loads is seamless, and 100 percent phase imbalance is supported.
“As the BESS market is poised to witness positive growth, we see ourselves perfectly positioned to drive this market’s growth bandwagon. We are one of the only players who is actually propagating DC/AC coupled systems in the market. We are constantly working towards developing new generation products, for which we are expanding our production capacity to reach two gigawatt of production annually”, concludes Nitesh.
