The hydroponic farming industry has seen a recent relentless growth with a huge number of players joining in the post-COVID-19 pandemic. Though the new entrants are bringing a number of hydroponic/ aeroponic farming options to the table, the existing players are already a few steps ahead in the market and providing exceptional services. One of these companies is Green Tangents, a leading hydroponic farming solution provider that started offering an aeroponic way of growing greens about four years back.
Founded by two brothers, Jalesh Arya and Prateek Arya, the mission of the company is to offer urban farming solutions to modern-day farmers and gardening specialists. “Back in 2019, we registered Green Tangents Private Limited to manufacture eco-friendly technological solutions. Our first project was to develop OCTA-Garden, a product that uses an amalgamation of hydroponic and aeroponic farming technologies. In addition, we innovate, customize solutions and manufacture In India to set up commercial and residential/ domestic farming projects,” says Jalesh Arya, co-founder of Green Tangents.
With its flagship product OCTA Garden, the company offers a soilless way of growing plants at home in a vertical tower that requires just 2*2 sqft. space and can accommodate 32 plants at a
time. Since it’s an aeroponic/ hydroponics way of cultivation, the system uses only water and liquid nutrients for plant growth. The product comes with an automated irrigation system that has a water reservoir of approx. 40 liters which last up to 10 days, making the operation tension free.
“OCTA-Garden comes as a DIY product packed in a box which is very easy to install. Being an automated system, it gives you a hassle free growing experience that takes care of all the plants’ needs,” adds the company’s other co-founder, Prateek Arya. It uses an Nutrient formula mixed with water to keep the plants healthy and pesticide-free. OCTA Garden is a scientific and environment-friendly solution that helps create cleaner and greener spaces. It can be set up on rooftops, balconies, home gardens, offices, commercial spaces, kitchen planting areas, and several other places. This aeroponics solution supports space management by implementing a vertical style growing system ensuring that more plants can be grown in a smaller area, making it an ideal product for homes as well as commercial setups.
“Vegetables grown using hydroponics technology tend to have a higher nutrient content and lesser harmful elements. And if you install this, you are assured of getting pesticide and chemical free produce that has grown right in your home, this giving you a healthy plant to plate experience,” Prateek states. Therefore, customers getting the crops from the hydroponic setups are happy and content with the fact that they are eating healthy. People nowadays are keen to set up such space-savvy farming solutions in-house with the help of Green Tangents. “People from urban residential areas are happy to use vertical plant growing systems as they have less space to setup conventional kitchen gardens.
We innovate, customize and provide hydroponics/ aeroponics technological solutions for domestic use and also setup commercial farms using these
Lettuce, Swiss chard, mint, celery, parsley, and so many herbs, vegetables, leafy greens and even ornamental plants can be grown easily,” Jalesh adds. The main motive of Green Tangents is to save natural resources. This technology saves about 90% water and helps in faster growth of crops. Jalesh and Prateek now want to make this technology accessible to the masses across India, so that every home can become a green home with access to fresh produce anytime and also by setting up commercial farms to save resources in comparison to conventional farms. Green Tangents thus is focused on bringing this cleaner, greener solution to both domestic and commercial places in the long run.
