India is the world's second-largest exporter of textiles and apparel with a massive raw material and manufacturing base. The textiles industry is a significant contributor to the economy, both in terms of its domestic share and exports, contributing about seven percent to industrial output, two percent to the GDP, and 15 percent to the country's total export earnings. The sector is one of the largest job creators in the country, employing about 45 million people directly.
The domestic apparel & textile industry in India contributes five percent to the country’s GDP, seven percent of industry output in value terms, and 12 percent of the country’s export earnings. Color Thread was established in 2019 by Rima Issac Cottadiyil as a manufacturer, exporter, supplier, and wholesaler of kids' and women's apparel. Just before graduating from her MBA studies, she thought about starting her own venture in the field of clothing. In order to begin we attained all the licences required for obtaining vendorship as well as exporting. She has in-depth knowledge of market behaviour and has excellent employee management skills. Under her leadership, Color Thread has had a turnover of 1.5 crore in the last financial year.
“Entry of international brands, changes in preferences from non-branded to branded, the fast-growing economy, and the large young consuming population in the country has made India a highly lucrative market. India has the world’s largest youth population, which is becoming fashion conscious owing to mass media and social media penetration. This has opened unprecedented retail market opportunities, indirectly it opens opportunities for us”, says Rima, Founder, Color Thread.

Color Thread is concentrated into kids wear and women apparel offering services to fashion designers, established brands and startups. They have a wide of products like girls’ party wear frocks, halter neck frock, kids fashion clothing, short middy, skirt and bottom wear, and night wear. These are widely praised and preferred in the market. In addition, the offered products are in multicolor, modern pattern, soft fabric, easy to wear and also marked at a price which is highly reasonable.
