A group captive power delivery agreement (PDA) for 4.4 MW AC was signed by Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a Tata Power subsidiary that specialises in renewable energy, and the Anand Group, a major player in the world's automotive systems and parts market.
In accordance with this contract, TPREL will assist in the production of 10 million units of clean energy from renewable sources. In line with TPREL's objective to build a greener and cleaner future for its Commercial and Industrial (C&I) customers, the project is anticipated to reduce carbon emissions by 5500 tonnes yearly. Tata Power aspires to set an example for other businesses to follow and invest in eco-friendly energy solutions by utilising the power of renewable energy sources with sustainability-focused Groups like Anand.
"This group captive project highlights our commitment to support the automotive industry in becoming more sustainable and environmentally focused," said Ashish Khanna, CEO of TPREL. Previously, Tata Power and the Anand Group worked together on an energy project for a 10.1-MW solar PV park in Maharashtra, India. This strategy supports the government's sustainability goals by giving numerous participants access to renewable energy at an affordable price.
The project unites visionaries with specific objectives to generate green energy, according to Rajeev Gera, President of Business Development and Corporate Materials at Anand Group. Together, Tata Power Renewable and Anand Group are paving the way and establishing new standards for a future that is more environmentally friendly. TPREL's total renewable energy capacity will be 7,787 MW, comprising 3,655 MW of projects that are in various phases of development. Its operational capacity will be 4,132 MW, which will include 3,139 MW of solar and 993 MW of wind energy.
