Piyush Goyal, the minister of commerce, exports of products and services from India are expected to surpass $760 billion in the current fiscal year. Goyal claimed that the country's products and services exports reached all-time highs of $422
billion and $254 billion, respectively, in 2021–2022, bringing the total shipments to $676 billion. He was speaking at the annual session of the industry group Assocham. "Services certainly expand more quickly than goods, but both types of export growth are positive. Most likely, we'll end the year with at least $760 billion in exports "added Goyal. He continued by saying that, in a time when the entire globe is experiencing a recession, high inflation, and elevated interest rates, India has emerged as a bright point.
Goyal emphasised that throughout the past nine years, the government has concentrated on ensuring that the foundation of the economy is solid. The minister added that the industry had welcomed the free trade deals with the UAE and Australia. He pointed out that India's FTAs were completed quickly without sacrificing the quality of the accords and only after substantial stakeholder input.
