Jakson Green, a preliminary agreement has been signed with Deendayal Port Authority to build a green ammonia factory at Kandla Port in Gujarat at a total cost of Rs 2,400 crore. According to a statement from the corporation, this historic project represents a crucial turning point in India's move to sustainable energy. Approximately Rs 2,400 crore will be spent on the construction of the green ammonia facility, according to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that Jakson Green Private Ltd. and Deendayal Port Authority signed.
The green ammonia facility, which will be built in phases and is located in Kandla Port in Gujarat, is expected to have an annual production capacity of 1,33,000 tonnes. Additionally, this project is anticipated to generate over 5,000 jobs, including O&M jobs, which will significantly boost the local economy, it was said.
Sushil Chandra Nahak, Chief Mechanical Engineer for the Deendayal Port Authority, and Krishnan Kannan, joint managing director of Jakson Green, signed the Memorandum of Understanding. In addition to other things, the Deendayal Port Authority would help Jakson Green get the required registrations, approvals, and clearances.
Kannan of Jakson Green stated, "This partnership reinforces our unwavering commitment to driving sustainable energy transition, while also acting as a catalyst for economic growth and the well-being of the local community". In conjunction with the Global Maritime India Summit (GMIS) 2023, the MoU was inked. The summit concentrated on how renewable energy has the potential to play a big role in decarbonizing the maritime industry, which is a large contributor to greenhouse gas emissions.
