Ashok Leyland, a heavy commercial vehicle maker based in Bangalore, sees potential in leveraging autonomous driving technology to reduce logistics costs in India, aligning with the government's National Logistics Policy. The collaboration intends to develop India-specific solutions that could be scaled globally.
The partnership will explore various applications, including hub-to-hub operations and long-haul trucking, contingent upon the evolving regulatory landscape surrounding autonomous driving in India. Both companies are enthusiastic about accelerating autonomous driving technology adoption, aiming to bring about a paradigm shift in the industry.
