Agriculture is India's most important business and source of income. Indeed, agricultural products have long been the mainstay of the country's economy. Agriculture has always been dependent on nature, namely the monsoon, and there has always been uncertainty. Despite the fact that farming has become more dangerous for farmers, people still enjoy farming. There has been significant progress over time. The government has been conducting numerous initiatives to meet the needs of farmers, such as providing enough water through artificial ponds, among other things. Today, farmers have become more innovative in order to produce in accordance with the weather and the availability of farming resources. As a result, an import-dependent country has become an agri-produce surplus country. India is presently exporting a variety of agricultural products and has grown its market share in the international market.
However, when someone starts a new business in any field, farmers expect to be provided with quality seeds, proper guidelines for maintaining international standards, better and organic fertilizers, proper high tech equipment, availability of required resources such as water, dripping system, transportation, good competitive pricing for the produce, and quick pay-offs. Whereas clients want excellent products at very competitive prices, on-time delivery, a long-term partnership with improved services each time, a pleasant interaction, a one-stop-shop for all of their needs, and cost optimization for mutual gain.
Magnus has met all of these requirements of both farmers and clients, and has become a trusted and valued brand among both. Farmers have been taken care of by the company by providing them with timely guidelines to maintain international standards, taking care of their farming needs, holding their hands from start to finish, providing them with the necessary equipment, purchasing produce at the best prices to benefit them, and paying dues faster and quicker by a robust system to avoid delays. Magnus, on the other hand, has been preserving existing clients and creating new clients through transparent negotiations, adhering to the most ethical manner to deal with clients in order to maintain cordial ties for mutual advantage.
“We've been steadily growing over the years. In our first year, we exported Grapes and Pomegranate to various nations, worth of Rs.54 crores in FY 20-21. Despite the effect of COVID-19 this year, as well as increases in costs such as sea freight, labor, packing material, and the war between Russia and Ukraine, we achieved our goal of Rs.80 crores in FY 21-22. This year, we also shipped Green Chili, Pomegranate, Banana, and Onion to Middle Eastern and Southeast Asian countries, to name a few. As a result, we are extending our international market presence by offering a diverse selection of products. We are unquestionably a game changer in this sector. We are dedicated to continuing to excel and serve our clients to their delight by bringing our product line into their kitchens”, says Girish Sarda, Founder & CEO at Magnus.
“Since our inception, we have attempted to fill the holes and deficiencies in the industry. We have been on high alert throughout the year, striving for high-quality products by closely collaborating with our producers. We make certain that quality and international standards are not compromised”, he adds.
Robust Infrastructure in Place
Magnus is backed by cutting-edge technology installed in its pack-house to ensure product shelf-life, freshness, and quality. At the same time, the corporation has maintained amicable connections with farmers, staff, and clients. Magnus guarantees that the produce is harvested, packed, and delivered on schedule, preventing time lost anywhere along the supply chain. Magnus seeks to develop its customer base and keep them for the long term with this competency.
'Sustainable Quality Products' is our USP. Our team works with growers all year to assist them with many elements as per our supermarket requirements, allowing our international retailers to supply the same to their customers. We are currently investigating the IQF and FROZEN product lines, which will assist our producers in reducing waste and increasing income from fruit left over from the first harvest. This could help Magnus form strong bonds with the growers; they will be confident that their produce would not be wasted on the farm”, says Laxman Savalkar, Founder and partner, Magnus.
Magnus has been consistently improving itself to stay relevant with changing market dynamics by incorporating latest technologies to boost productivity, packing facilities, andproduct quality. Magnus has been successfully hand holding the clients with respect to harvesting, and acquiring the items without any deviations, while also paying them a fair price and clearing their debts on time. Furthermore, the corporation has provided them with a health card to cover minor and significant ailments for themselves and their families. With the help of this card, they can receive high-quality care at big, well-known hospitals in Nashik. In fact, it's similar to cooperating with farmers in a familial connection.
“We have created a framework in which our producers may use our expertise to cultivate fruit that is acceptable to European retailers and supermarkets. We select producers based on their practises and monitor them throughout the year; at first, we launched one initiative called 'German Supermarket Program with 100 percent compliance in Residual Management.' We have identified 100 producers who adhere to the measures and monitor the sprays in order to meet the Supermarket criterion in Europe. Our skilled team leads and supervises farms, as well as producers, to ensure compliance with the Supermarket. We have used this principle to all of our supermarket programmes in the future”, explains Laxman.
Magnus’ team is an extended family of growers, employees and clients. They work tirelessly and selflessly for Magnus and are self-motivated, enthusiastic, self-disciplined and hardworking. Once the guidelines and targets are decided, the team takes over from there without any nagging for the result. A well-planned season leads to a perfectly carried out plan.

“We were confident from the start that we could achieve something significant to bring about the necessary innovation in the agriculture sphere. We have worked tirelessly toward this goal every day. We broke all records in the first year, exporting grapes & Pomegranat worth Rs.54 crores. Our client base for the first year was 15 clients, and it has already grown dramatically to 24 clients in this year. In the previous two years, our foreign market presence has grown from seven to eighteen nations”, states Girish.
Going forward, Magnus has big aspirations for the future, including not only expanding its export product line, but also adding a food processing facility and a frozen food unit, among other things. Magnus also intends to venture into its own grape production with new types in the Maharashtra regions of Nashik and Solapur. The enterprise will begin farming with 120 acres and gradually expand to 500 acres in next 3 to 4 years. Magnus aspired to become the most favoured brand in the international market and to reach as many nations as possible in a short period of time with a diverse assortment of fresh produce, frozen food, and processed food. “We will continue to work for the benefit of both growers and our overseas clients. A long and healthy relationship with growers and clients is a key need for the business, which we would want to pioneer”, concludes Girish & Laxman.
