Drones have already proven their worth in the Defense arena through Surveillance platforms & UCAVs (Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicles), the delay in entering mainstream civilian use can be attributed to the unavailability and inaccessibility of advanced technology. However, with innovations in aerospace engineering, autopilot systems and sensors have become smaller, cheaper, and more reliable, subsequently drones have become more compact, precise, and affordable. The drone industry in India though relatively nascent is evolving at a rapid pace.
Capt. Raejus Job, founder of Thaejus Aerodyne, is a licensed Commercial pilot and ICAO Certified trainer, chosen by the DGCA, India, to undergo training with NTRO (National Technical Research Organization) as one of the four Certified Master Trainers and one of two BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) drone instructors in the country, having the honor of teaching the first batch of RPAS instructors at the DGCA headquarters and assisted in establishing three remote pilot training organizations, and credited with having produced the country’s first Drone Training Manual.
Thaejus Aerodyne is one of the leading LTA (Lighter-Than-Air) drone manufacturers, recognized by Lockheed Martin amongst the top 10 projects in 2007, when drones were a thing of
the future, privileged to showcase its aerostat platforms at the 2010 Dussehra Festival at Mysore for surveillance and advertising, provides services along three core verticals.
The first being professional Edutech solutions, having realized the potential of professional Unmanned Aerial Systems training, the company has seized the opportunity to revolutionize the drone eco-space with specialized programs for the industry and is actively involved in designing and developing curriculum for flight training and certification.
Secondly, Thaejus Aerodyne provides high level consultancy to companies entering the drone eco-space, having successfully handheld startups from conception to fullfledged operations, amplifying their valuations to command funding in millions of dollars.
The last vertical is R&D, dealing with Urban Air Mobility, Unmanned Air traffic Management systems, BVLOS and UAV applications. Thaejus Aerodyne is betting big on these specific projects, critically essential for integration of drone cargo logistics, and other high value services, detrimental to the future expansion of the UAV industry.
The Drone Industry is set to evolve at a rapid pace, India is already witness to this growth that has the potential to become a 100 billion dollar industry at a CAGR of 17 percent, creating a million drone related jobs within the next five years
“Looking back, I’d say it all started when my father (Who’s name the company proudly bears) took me on my first flight on an Avro HS 748 turboprop aircraft in 1979. That is where the foundations of my career and probably my entire professional path began”, shares Capt. Raejus Job. He further adds “If you ask me how I managed, I’d say by the grace of God, my parents, who encouraged me and the passion to believe in the power of a dream.
Thaejus Aerodyne intends to tick three checkboxes in the upcoming years. The first is to introduce more specialist programs in Edutech, second is to strengthen its consultancy base and third to fortify their R&D division. “In five years, India will be flooded with companies seeking quality, and cost-effective UAV solutions, we hope to be on the forefront of this revolution”, concludes Capt. Raejus Job, Founder, Thaejus Aerodyne.
