Arecent study by marketsandmarkets shows the wastewater treatment services market is estimated to be $53.0 billion in 2021 and is projected to reach $71.6 billion by 2026, at a CAGR of 6.2 percent between 2021 and 2026. The industry is largely driven by an evergrowing population, an expanding manufacturing industry, urbanization, a shortage of quality and affordable water, and regulatory requirements. While the wastewater treatment industry is evolving and welcoming new products, Technorbital is seizing the opportunity to revolutionize this space through its robust products and solutions.

Established in 2011 in Kanpur, Technorbital thrives on providing innovative and affordable drinking water solutions and wastewater management by incorporating green technologies. Founded by two technocrats with doctorates from IITs, a CA, and a businessman, the company was established with the vision of transforming lab-scale technologies into commercial successes. Technorbital developed the membrane technology, based on their own polymer 'PolyNorbit', in collaboration with India's premier R&D lab, CSIR-NCL Pune.
Treating & reusing wastewater in the future will provide industries with many advantages regarding carbon credits, making it a highly appealing and commercially viable practice
The firm employs a proprietary polymer named PolyNorbit, for making its innovative new generation membranes 'GRAFiL', which is one of the main differentiating factors that give the firm a competitive edge. The membranes do not require harsh chemicals for washing, have minimum operating costs, and reduce the environmental impact of water treatment plants.
Additionally, the membranes are highly anti-fouling and manufactured in India. Technorbital offers non-electric water purifiers based on their membrane technology that provides filtered water without electricity and does not waste a single drop of water. The water filtration system removes all pathogenic bacteria, viruses, cysts, protozoa, and so on in compliance with WHO standards.
The firm’s Tech-Jal is a community water purifier with a filtration capacity of 200-2000 liters per hour, making it suitable for schools, colleges, villages, and hospitals.
In addition, Tech-Jal also works without electricity, produces no wastewater, and around 1000 Tech- Jal plants, are installed in remote areas across India. The GRAFiL industrial UF membranes are designed to reduce the operating expenses and carbon footprint of water treatment plants, making them effortless to operate.
Dr. T V Sreekumar, Founder & Partner
GRAFiL is designed explicitly for wastewater treatments, Sewage treatments, and Pre-Post RO. Furthermore, it can also handle a substantial amount of oil in the feed water, a major limitation of the existing industrial membranes, and GRAFiL membranes come in various sizes.
Manish Agarwal, CFO
“Technorbital has become a prominent brand across India, reaching the lives of approximately 6 million people per day with its products, TATA SWACH, Tech Jal, and GRAFiL. The firm’s industrial ultrafiltration membranes GRAFiL, started making waves in India, and more than 40 wastewater treatment plants, are installed through various dealers and OEMs as of today", shares, Dr. Sunil Dhole, Founder Director & CEO, Technorbital.
Dr. Sandip Patil, Technical Director
Technorbiatal has won several prestigious awards like the CII Green Technology award in 2017, Water Award by FICCI along with the water ministry in 2017, and Best Technology Award by the World Disaster Management Forum in 2018, and more, for its contribution to the industry. Technorbital is developing several innovative and effortless water treatment membranes, including new generation MBR and membrane cartridges for the in-line domestic market.
Shaju P.M, Founder Director - CMD
The firm has already acquired enough land (over six acres) and built infrastructure in Kanpur to produce a minimum of 150,000 domestic membrane cartridges and 1000 industrial modules monthly. Presently the company has its sales and networking office in Pune and Ahmedabad. Furthermore, the firm plans to generate more than Rs 50 crore in revenue within the next five years.
