The Global Calibration Services Market is poised to grow strong during the forecast period 2017 to 2027. Some of the prominent trends that the market is witnessing include a trend towards product innovation, availability of software-based calibration solutions and technology developments in calibration intervals change. In India the market is slowly and steadily growing but facing drawback at the same time. It’s too hard to convince technical issues to NABL accreditation bodies due to their lack of practical knowledge and authoritative talk and moreover, the cost of calibration is increasing because of heavy accreditation charges every year.
“In my opinion unless accreditation bodies in India conduct the workshops or seminars for above industries to explain the importance of calibration and how to select the good laboratories for their application I don’t think these industries would listen to laboratory trainings”, states Ashok Nazare, Director, QRICS Calibration Laboratories.
Story of Growth
QRICS i.e. ‘Quality Ring Inspection Co-Ordination Services’ established in 1989 as a proprietary firm that deals with quality assurance support services such as calibration of mechanical, pressure, angle,
thermal and electro-technical measuring instruments and equipment. Later on, in 1996 this organization was promoted to Private Limited with the name and title of QRICS Calibration Laboratories Pvt Ltd. The laboratory staff is well experienced and technically qualified. The M.D. of the company has 43 years experience in ‘Quality Assurance’ support Services in reputed organizations. It has enough space where the environment of calibration activities such as cleanliness, humidity, temperature, light, illumination, voltage & vibration levels is properly met.
“This company was established in 1989. There was not a single proprietary calibration lab in India at that time. Initially it was in Pashan, Pune. There after it was shifted to MIDC Bhosari. Till 1993 there was no competitor to us. We had applied for NCTVT at that time since NABL body was not in existence. We had over 2500 clients at that time. Our revenue was the best. The clients used to visit our lab to evaluate our performance and capabilities. Whatever calibration charges are there in India today for conventional instruments/equipment those are fixed by us through industrial engineering practice. We have full-fledged facility for repair and services in the fields of mechanical dimensions, electro technical measures and thermal requirements”, says Ashok.

Future Vision
Qrics Calibration Laboratories is one of the trustworthy names in the industry, offering a wide range of Calibration coach on instruments use that is executed using advanced tools and progressive technology. The AMC for calibration of measuring instruments is provided to customers to ensure timely preventive maintenance of their valuable test equipment.
“I would like to specifically mention here that we Indians are little quality cautious. We are good in exhibiting slogans on quality, conducting seminars, giving motivational speech but not good enough in going in depth of the problem. For example no one is interested in bringing together all ISO 9001 industries to explain to them the importance of calibration laboratories in India and how it plays the role in quality of product”, concludes the Director.
