The current emphasis of Govt. of India is on renewable energy due to the nations' commitment to achieve net-zero emissions, aligned with the set targets. Therefore, to contribute significantly to achieve this objectives, My Home Power Consultancy Services (MHPCSL) is also focusing on this sector anticipating the substantial growth in renewable energy-based plants.
MHPCSL is an ISO 9001:2015-certified company established in 2003 to provide integrated energy solutions, as a part of the My Home Group of companies, based in Hyderabad, Telangana. With a turnover of Rs.7,500 crores, the group has grown with its presence in construction, cement, power, transportation, consultancy services in power, and education.
"My Home Power was established in 2000, by initiating renewable energy efforts with converting a gas-based based plant to a biomass based power plant. This achievement earned many rewards from the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh and Central governments. In 2003, MHPCSL was formed to share its technical expertise, while its biomass plant gained recognition, earning carbon credits and financial benefit as an UNFCCC project for converting fossil fuels to renewable fuel for its power plant.

Caters Various Energy Sector
MHPCSL is involved in various energy segments, encompassing renewable energy (including biomass and solar), and by offering thermal power plant engineering and consultancy services. They provide operations and maintenance (O&M) services and energy management services as well, functioning as an EPC entity for rooftop and PV solar systems. The engineering consulting services, involve project engineering, feasibility studies, technical and economic assessments, and Detailed Project Reports (DPR) preparation. Further, they provide procurement services, conduct technical evaluations, design/detailed engineering services, and project management.
“Our specialization lies in waste heat recovery (WHR) power plants for the cement and steel industries. GOI mandates WHR power plants in all new cement plants to address the environmental concerns caused by the wasted heat emitted into the atmosphere. These plants are not only considered as Green energy projects but also assist in meeting renewable power purchase obligations (RPPO). The company has executed around 20 MW of solar power projects on EPC and consultancy basis including ground mounted and rooftop solar installations in both residential and commercial buildings.
RPPO is going to be a big challenge for all industries using fossil fuel, as the RPPO targets are drastically increasing year by year. MHPCSL propose to address this concern by installation of Renewable power plants and by trading RECs through the Power Exchange”, says Roy Chowdhury.
MHPCSL has emerged as a trailblazer in Telangana, specifically in real estate segments through the integration of solar power plants. Notably, the company has not only built but also operates the WHR power plants and solar Power Plants in their 14.5 million Tones cement units. The company's WHR power plants were developed in-house and now extending the services to external parties as well. “Our USP is, starting the initiatives in-house and then extending these services to others, by using our expertise to ensure success. This strategy has worked well since our group synergies allow us to provide optimum services and solutions”, adds Roy Chowdhury.
Looking forward, MHPCSL is in the path of establishing a large-scale solar facility with an objective to transmit the power on open-access to all construction and commercial sites. To achieve this end, MHPCSL is actively pursuing to install 50–100-megawatt solar power projects for addressing the energy requirements. MHPCSL has already expanded in this sector to achieve emission targets for their clients.
