Survey and mapping industry has a crucial role to play in infrastructure projects in developing countries like India. Every major national program, such as digital India, smart cities, transportation and highway development, river linking, industrial corridors, Smart power and agriculture reform relies heavily on updated surveys and mapping information.
However, when it comes to the adoption of geospatial technologies on the ground, the industry has still a long way to go. As a result, there is a lack of accuracy which hampers the infrastructure development projects. Apart from the dearth of quality data, other factors like on-time completion, cost and more have evolved to be major concerns for the clients.
With a skilled workforce, Land Point Survey delivers quality assured reliable data to its clients. The firm continually integrates advanced technology in its every project to assure high precision and quick turnaround time. “At Land Point Survey, we are committed to the quality and minimal time delivery.
Our proficient workforce assists our clients in every facet pertaining – feasibility studies, surveying, investigation, planning, design, land acquisition and GIS based asset management,” says M Shivakumar, Director at Land Point Survey.
Technology Backed Operations
Since inception, Land Point Survey (LPS) has vested an undivided interest in upgrading its technological infrastructure. Owing to the firm's undivided dedication, the team has now all the new technologies in the field of survey & mapping to get more accurate and realistic data. This in turn helps the clients to take the decision on the spot about the proposed infrastructure.
“The major services in the LPS are Survey, Mapping, Engineering and Geographical Information System (GIS). To maintain the quality of the deliverables, LPS have their own QA/QC system with automated data collection tools to avoid errors,” shares Shivakumar.
The Milestones Achieved
In the Journey of 6 years, Land Point has completed survey & mapping for an area of 2,60,348 Hectares in various infrastructure projects, around 5069km of Linear alignment mapping like Roads, Canal and Pipeline and establishment of 23,964 control points by GNSS network with the help of modern survey technologies. The LPS team has DGCA approved UAVs and Licensed pilots with dual frequency GNSS receivers with a well-experienced team to execute the projects.
Shivakumar points out, “LPS has developed an exceptional competency in the field of survey and mapping. The LandPoint is also an associate in Prestige’s Kaladhan Multimodal Project in Myanmar, funded by Govt. of India and associated in Major irrigation projects like Yethinahole and Mekedhattuetc. LPS is now associated with the SVAMITVA project in Punjab state.” Today, the LPS team is also associated with land auditing of existing layouts formed by BDA to identify the Unauthorized encroachments.
