Presently in India, especially during the post COVID-19 period public awareness towards quality of food has increased. Food security, food safety, and food sustainability have been recognized as strongly affected dimensions of food systems. The customer wants safe, healthy, and nutritious edibles. Consumers are now giving preference to safety and quality to the food they consume. Their behaviour related to food they consume has changed. As a result, restaurants need to fulfil the safety parameters of food products to be able to sustain in the market. At the same time, Government of India also wants to ensure food safety and standard nationwide for the benefit of Indian citizen. It has formed Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) for protecting and promoting public health through the regulation and supervision of food safety. It compels every vender to not sell the food product unless the specified requirement fulfilled. Hence, the demand for food testing market is increasing in India.
Food based illnesses are one of the key causes of deaths in the world. Culture of having meals at restaurant or taken out menus are growing. Such foods would only be allowed to sell if the food has been tested in the specific laboratory. Clients want that report should cover all the parameter of sample as per the regulations prescribed by the FSSAI. Moreover, highest quality and excellence in analysing samples and timely generation of final report are the key values that need to be provided. The challenge that is inherent with the food testing service is to get the mandatory licences from the authorities. Krishna Digital Material Testing Laboratory based out of Bhopal has got the accreditation and approvals from Bureau of Indian Standard (BIS), National Accreditation Board for Testing & Calibration Laboratories (NABL), Quality Council of India (QCI) and Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).
Food testing services need machine of latest technology and other food safety systems to quality assurance and quality control of samples. The market requires faster better and economical machines which can get real time test results. Krishna Digital Material has setup fully operated food laboratory installing the latest technology driven equipment including imported machinery.
Rajesh Kumar Gangele, Managing Director, Krishna Digital Material Testing Laboratory states, “As of today, we are in a growing stage. We have setup a hi-tech food testing laboratory accredited by National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories under ISO 9001:2005 and one of the FSSAI approved Laboratory in India. We have wide range of equipment to analyse Food composition, nutritional properties, Heavy metals, Elemental analysis and Toxin analysis, Pesticides, Alphatoxin, Antibiotics in Food &, Water Samples. Samples from different industries like Food Processing Industries, Edible Oil industries, railway department, Sanchi Industry Exporters & Importers and Pharma and Biotech industries and sent to us for analysis. The samples are analysed with the standard protocols like AOAC, AACC FSSAI, and BIS standards. We offer reliable food testing services of all stages of food products starting from raw material to final product. Moreover, we offer services for sample collection from client’s door and its environment monitoring and validation.”
Service and Operational Excellence
The company offers services like Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry
(ICP-OES) (4), FTIR- Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrophotometer (GCMS/MS), Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrophotometer (LC-MS/MS) and High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), formerly referred to as high-pressure liquid chromatography, is a technique in analytical chemistry used to separate, identify, and quantify each component in a mixture. It relies on pumps to pass a pressurized liquid solvent containing the sample mixture through a column filled with a solid adsorbent material and it is also among the service range of the company. Gas chromatography is also provides by the company.
Gas chromatography (GC) is a common type of chromatography used in analytical chemistry for separating and analysing compounds that can be vaporized without decomposition. Added to these, the company also provides Liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC–MS) which is an analytical chemistry technique that combines the physical separation capabilities of liquid chromatography (or HPLC) with the mass analysis capabilities of mass spectrometry (MS). Further to these, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) is a technique which is used to obtain infrared spectrum of absorption, emission, and photoconductivity of solid, liquid, and gas. It is used to detect different functional groups in PHB. FTIR spectrum is recorded between 4000 and 400 cm−1. Last but not the least, ICP-OES (INDUCTIVELY COUPLED PLASMA - OPTICAL EMISSION SPECTROMETRY) is a technique in which the composition of elements in (mostly water-dissolved) samples can be determined using plasma and a spectrometer which is also among the services provide by the company.

Providing the testing facilities to their clients regarding building and highway materials testing, ferrous & nonferrous material testing, water testing, food testing, agricultural soil testing, PVC HDPE material testing and concrete NDT testing
Krishna Lab has been established in the year 2012by Priyesh Gangele (Director) with the aim to provide all facilities related to technical testing at one place. Initially, the lab has started to provide facility of building and highway material testing however now we have fully equipped laboratory and providing food testing, soil testing along with material testing. We have more than 12000 sq. ft. fully furnished office & Laboratory and qualified staff to facilitate the clients. We have successfully achieve the goal to test more than 12 lakh samples of agriculture soil within two years for Department of Agriculture, Jaipur in the year 2017 & 18.
“We have setup a hi-tech food testing laboratory accredited by national accreditation board for testing and calibration laboratories under iso 9001:2005 and one of the Fssai approved laboratory in India”
Speaking about the goodwill earned by the company, the MD concludes, “We have earned a high reputation for reliability and professionalism in the testing industry and have successfully provided service in Railway Projects, Highway Projects, ROB/RUB Projects, DAM/Irrigation Projects, Airport Projects, Industrial & Infrastructure Projects and Food & Water Industries.”
