It is estimated that India will require an investment worth 50 Trillion across all infrastructure segments by 2022 (IBEF, 2022). Infrastructure development is going to be a primary engine of economic growth in the country. The government is accelerating the growth in this sector by implementing policies and regulations that will enable timely delivery of projects and achieve a good return on investment. Power, bridges, dams, highways, and urban infrastructure development are all part of the infrastructure industry. As a result of this huge drive towards nation building, Infrastructure development consultancy is gaining popularity across the Indian subcontinent today.
Ashtadik Infrastructure Planning Consultants Pvt. Ltd. (AIPCL) is built ground-up by a group of eight seasoned architects who have been leveraging decades of experience in undertaking architectural design, infrastructure planning, project management consultancy for private and public projects across India. Each of these architects has their own individual practice and have been working across diverse fields. Some of them are specialized in public projects, while others have expertise in institutional projects, housing, commercial design, interior design, retail architecture, and urban/regional planning projects. Further, this is backed by collaborations with specialized consultants, engineers, graphic designers, technicians, contractors, etc. as required on a project basis.
Currently, Ashtadik is working on a diverse range of projects. The projects include the development of Island infrastructure for tourism and the rejuvenation of the existing city core of Mangalore for better transit-oriented use. Other projects in the public domain are the design of sports infrastructure facilities such as world-class Athletic stadiums and the design of Indoor sports facilities for Badminton and Kabaddi, which are also Smart City Projects.
“D. K. Nirmithi Kendra had the challenge of executing a project in a steep-sloped, hilly terrain in Bantwal, Dakshina Kannada Taluq. We thought of only Ashtadik Infrastructure Planning Consultants Pvt. Ltd. to do justice for the project and requested them to be Architectural consultants. The job was well received and the design given was practical and innovative. Being a consortium of eight architects, Ashtadik can handle such difficult assignments with good engineering practices,” explains.
Ashtadik has also worked in the institutional sector for the Masterplan and the design of a queue management facility for a large religious institution. The design involved not just providing architectural design consultancy but also deploying research into crowd management techniques employing operational research. This study was conducted over a period of time by realtime data gathering and observations on site. Ashtadik can deliver for projects that require detailed feasibility analysis such as social, environmental, and economic feasibility, studies on value capture financing (VCF) mechanisms, preparation of detailed project reports for the works contract tender of Public- Private Partnership (PPP) projects through BOT and BOOT modes.
Designing infrastructure projects in an economically viable and aesthetic manner necessitates the use of specialists who can bring in the necessary know-how to deliver these project projects as per the vision and policies of our clients. Often the client is clear on the project outcome but unaware of the process to achieve this. This is where Ashtadik stands apart by guiding the client on what to expect from Architects.
“We educate the client and make sure to do justice to every minute expectation, be it the budget constraints, timelines, and the end objectives of the project. Right from the get-go, Ashtadik believes in thorough planning and strategizing even before the construction commences, so that we ensure there is best value delivery and return on investment for all the stakeholders,” says Ar. Suprith Alva, MD, AIPCL.
“Currently, we are discussing with some international firms to bring in some much-needed innovation in the industry. As sustainable construction provides important benefits and business opportunities, we are continuously focusing on R&D to drive sustainable architecture. We believe with these practices; we are best enabled to tackle any challenges and to serve our clients with quality consultancy,” concludes Ar. Amarnath Bhandary, Director, AIPCL.
