Aja Apparel started with manufacturing of the simplest garment such as kaftans & by the end of 2014, the company was already making swimwear & sportswear which needed deep technical know-how. Coming a long way since then, Aja apparels has emerged as one of the few exclusive manufacturers in India making high-end swimwear & activewear along with all other regular categories of woven & knitted products for all age groups of women, men & kids.
“As increasing health consciousness and growing awareness towards environment among consumers is a huge factor in making sustainability a fashion trend, we opt for more sustainable, recycled and natural fabrics such as recycled polyester and econyle for swim/activewear. Organic cotton, fabrics made out of banana, orange, milk fiber, eucalyptus, rose and so on are also excessively used in manufacturing our garments. We at Aja apparels take pride in using recycled packing material including compostable biodegradable polybags made from starch, and for most of our clients looking for high-end swimwear & activewear, we use Italian premium quality recycled polyester & econyl from Carvico,” states Jeevan Jyoti.
Since most of the industry leaders are eager to shift their manufacturing base from China, India has a good opportunity to grab this business and emerge as a trailblazer in manufacturing particular fabrics suitable for these categories. Competing with China on prices is a big challenge as India still has to depend on China, Taiwan or Korea for these fabrics which increases the cost of raw materials i.e., fabrics.
