Lauding PM Narendra Modi for the launch of the Pradhan Mantri Gati Shakti Masterplan, T V Narendran, President, Confederation of Indian Industry, stated that “The launch of PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan will be a gamechanger for industry and would harness the potential of Industry in line with the PM’s vision of scale and speed. The plan is laser-like in its makeover of
India’s infrastructure and is expected to impart significant impetus to national development”.
CII agreed with the Prime Minister that an integrated framework of
infrastructure development strategy under the Gati Shakti Plan that envisions a synergetic connectivity network between the various kinds of transports such as roads & highways, rail, ports, airports & waterways will buttress the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India by connecting various regions & industrial hubs, without any interruptions.
Any country’s development would completely depend on its infrastructural facilities. This is due to the essential role it has in improving the standard of living of any country. Not just that, the right and adequate infrastructure such as airports, road & railway transport system, etc., coupled with their efficient working is highly needed for connecting the Indian economy with various world economies.
Therefore, Concrete, steel & fiber optic cable are the “new essential building blocks” of a healthy economy. While Infrastructure facilitates trade and empowers businesses, it also connects workers to their jobs, creates opportunities for struggling communities, as well as protects the country from an unpredictable natural environment.
Infrastructure development supports workers. It provides millions of jobs every year in the building and maintenance sector. Most importantly, crucial national goals also depend on the infrastructure.
Hence, every economy requires a reliable infrastructure in order to connect supply chains & efficiently transports goods and services across different countries. Infrastructure integrated/connects households throughout metropolitan areas to higher quality opportunities for essential services and needs such as employment, healthcare, and education. Also, other factors are clean energy and public transit that can help in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
