“The Honourable Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has presented a Budget which further strengthens India’s standing as the fastest-growing economy in the country and builds on the clarion call of Aatmanirbhar Bharat made by Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The allocation of Rs. 15,000 crore towards SWAMI Fund 2 and the setting up of Urban challenge fund of Rs. 1 lakh Crore for redevelopment of cities will boost infrastructure development and demand for construction materials.”
- Satish Kumar Agarwal, CMD, Kamdhenu Limited:
"The Union Budget 2025 reflects the Government’s vision for moving towards a stronger and more resilient economy. The focus on tax rationalization and people skilling will spur consumption and economic growth. We appreciate the Government’s commitment to enhance productivity in agriculture, support MSMEs, boost manufacturing and secure energy supplies. Specifically, the announcement made on removal of Basic Customs Duty on waste and scrap of metal commodities like Copper, Lead, Zinc and others has the potential to boost the circular economy, enhance raw material supplies and support domestic manufacturing.”

"The Union Budget 2025-26 marks a defining moment for India's semiconductor ambitions. The expanded PLI scheme of ₹6,200 crores and dedicated R&D fund send a clear signal —India is not just assembling but aiming to lead in design and fabrication of complex systems and chips. However, success hinges on execution of these schemes and lowering barrier for industry to utilize these incentives and schemes. At KeenSemi, we see this as an opportunity to bridge the gap between India's Indigenous requirements and skills needed to achieve them. We are ready to contribute, collaborate and deepen our role in India’s semiconductor value chain.
Global competitiveness will require not just financial incentives but also infrastructure readiness, faster approvals, and a seamless supply chain. This budget sets the right intent—what follows next will determine India's strong trajectory in the global semiconductor supremacy race."
- Pankaj Panjwani, CEO and Founder, KeenSemi:
“The Union Budget 2025-26 reaffirms the government’s strong commitment to sustainable transportation and the rapid advancement of electric vehicles (EVs) in India. The proposed reforms—ranging from enhanced financial support and tax incentives to substantial investments in EV infrastructure and battery manufacturing—are set to make electric mobility more accessible, affordable, and scalable. These initiatives align seamlessly with our vision at Blue Energy Motors and further reinforce our recent investment in Maharashtra to establish a cutting-edge electric truck manufacturing facility. With a robust policy push and growing domestic capabilities in battery technology, we are confident that India is on the fast track to accelerating clean-energy vehicle adoption, paving the way for a greener and more sustainable future.”
- Anirudh Bhuwalka, CEO of Blue Energy Motors
"The Union Budget 2025's strong emphasis on the agriculture sector is a transformative step towards a brighter future for Indian farmers. This strategic focus on crop diversification, improved irrigation, and better credit availability is essential for the sustainable growth of our agriculture sector.Furthermore, the comprehensive programme for fruits and vegetables, aimed at promoting production, supplies, processing, and better remunerative prices, is a forward-thinking move that will benefit both farmers and consumers, while taking the country towards a better nutritional future.Special focus on targeting 100 districts with low productivity, is a radical initiative that will significantly enhance agricultural productivity and support 1.7 crore farmers. The emphasis on empowering rural women, young farmers, and marginal farmers underscores the government's dedication to inclusive growth and sustainable development in agriculture. By focusing on empowering farmers through these initiatives, the government is laying the foundation for a resilient and prosperous agricultural sector.
Overall, the budget's focus on innovation, investment, and sustainability in agriculture is a bold move that will undoubtedly lead to a thriving and self-reliant agricultural future for India."
- Sanjiv Kanwar, Managing Director, Yara South Asia.
“The government's latest budget rightly emphasizes strengthening India’s power infrastructure and clean technology manufacturing—critical steps toward an affordable, resilient and sustainable energy future. With India targeting 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030 and renewables already contributing over 40% of installed capacity, ensuring 24/7 affordable, reliable and clean power requires integrating dispatchable sources such as hydro, gas, coal, nuclear and energy storage into the electricity system. The budget’s focus on intra-state transmission expansion and financial incentives—allowing states to borrow an additional 0.5% of GSDP linked to power sector reforms—will directly enhance grid reliability, reduce transmission losses, and improve power distribution efficiency. These measures will create a more flexible and resilient grid capable of seamlessly integrating intermittent renewable sources, balancing supply and demand, and minimizing outages.
Additionally, by addressing the financial instability of power distribution companies (DISCOMs), these reforms will help resolve outstanding dues that have long hindered sectoral growth and investment. Strengthening the financial health of DISCOMs will enable greater investment in grid modernization, digital infrastructure, and energy storage—critical for ensuring reliable power, particularly in rural and underserved areas.
The budget also complements the National Manufacturing Mission’s push for domestic EV battery and solar panel production. These measures will reduce import dependence, create jobs, and fortify domestic supply chains while accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) and clean energy technologies. By driving down carbon emissions and supporting industrial growth, these reforms position India’s power sector as a cornerstone of both economic development and the transition to a low-carbon future.”
- Atanu Mukherjee, CEO, Dastur Energy
"The Union Budget 2025 reaffirms the Government’s unwavering commitment to creating a ‘Viksit Bharat,’ with a strong focus on Garib, Youth, Annadata, and Nari. The budget has laid the foundation for a more inclusive and sustainable future by strengthening India’s agricultural ecosystem and accelerating the nation’s clean energy transition.
The introduction of the Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana is a landmark step in recognizing agriculture as the first engine of growth. The upliftment of 100 districts will drive inclusive agricultural growth, benefiting 1.7 crore farmers through improved, better financial access, and enhanced post-harvest infrastructure. With sugarcane being a vital contributor to India’s agrarian economy, such interventions will further empower farmers by enabling sustainable farming practices.
Furthermore, the launch of the National Mission on High-Yielding Seeds is also a transformative initiative that will improve crop productivity and resilience. Given the intensity of climate change, this initiative is now more important than ever, ensuring greater food security and income stability for farmers. Enhancing financial support through Kisan Credit Cards (KCC) and boosting agri-based entrepreneurship, particularly in food processing, will create new opportunities for rural communities and bolster value addition in the sector.
Water conservation and responsible wastewater management remain crucial for the country, and the extension of the Jal Jeevan Mission till 2028, aiming to achieve 100% coverage of potable tap water connections across rural households is a welcome move. Additionally, the Government plans to sign separate MoUs with states and union territories to ensure the sustainability and efficiency of water service delivery, reinforce its commitment to a water-secure future for all. As a leading player in sugar, ethanol and water management, our Company remains dedicated to advancing these national priorities. With a sharp focus on circular economy principles, we will continue to work alongside farmers, policymakers, and industry partners to build a greener, more self-reliant India.”
- Tarun Sawhney, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Triveni Engineering & Industries Ltd

Announcing a slew of measures to support the growth of the sector, the budget introduced several initiatives to drive rural prosperity. This is by encouraging sustainable farming practices, strengthening irrigation, improving storage, increasing credit and enhancing capacity in food processing. These initiatives truly have the potential to make India a food basket of the world while driving resilience of the rural economy.”
