An MoU was signed by Tata Steel and the Central Building Research Institute (CBRI), a member of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), to work together on research, academic advancement, and sustainable mining practises. According to a press statement from the firm, the MoU was signed by Prof. R. Pradeep Kumar,
director CBRI, and D. B. Sundara Ramam, vice president of raw materials for Tata Steel. According to the agreement, CBRI will offer Tata Steel scientific input on slope stability analyses and control strategies in mining areas as well as on cost-effective and environmentally friendly green housing technologies for the rehabilitation and resettlement of families in mining areas. According to the press release, the relationship will also involve technical training and workshops on geotechnical knowledge and other mining-related scientific topics.
Sundara Ramam commented on the development, saying, "The partnership with CBRI is a big step in the direction of our dedication to environmentally friendly mining methods. We are eager to collaborate with their specialists to promote innovation and discover fresh approaches to ensuring the wellness of the local communities where we operate. The MOU will open the door for cutting-edge, academic mining research."
