Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL) has awarded a 200 MW solar project to state-owned SJVN Ltd, valued at Rs 1,200 crore. Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Nand Lal Sharma announced in a statement that "the company has
obtained 200 MW Grid Connected Solar Power Project in Khavda Solar Park through e-Reverse auction conducted by GUVNL, SJVN Ltd." The project is priced at Rs 2.88 per unit and will be built on a build-own-and-operate (BOO) basis. He stated that an estimated Rs 1,200 crore will be spent on the project's development. The project is anticipated to produce 505 million units in the first year of commissioning and approximately 11,756 million units of energy overall over a 25-year timeframe.
"The project is anticipated to reduce 5,76,067 tonnes of carbon emissions upon commissioning. Our solar and wind portfolio now has 17,620 MW, of which 179.5 MW is operational and the remaining portion is in various phases of execution, thanks to the allocation of this project, the executive stated.
