A notice requesting bids for the construction of 2,500 Mw of wind generating projects in India was published by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), which is administratively under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).
With regard to the setting up of 2,500 MW ISTS-connected wind power projects under Tranche XV of tariff-based competitive bidding, SECI will choose project developers through a Request for Selection (RfS) document that will be released soon.
"The tender will be issued under the Standard Bidding Guidelines for Wind Power Projects issued by the Government including its amendments and clarifications," SECI stated. The Inter State Transmission System (ISTS) network will connect the projects in five states, including Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Maharashtra, according to information provided by SECI on their location.
Of the total 2,500 MW capacity, 300 Mw will be connected to the delivery point at Karur in Tamil Nadu; 1,200 Mw at Koppal, Gadag, Bidar, Bijapur, Devangiri and Chitradurga in Karnataka; 400 Mw projects at Nizamabad, Rangareddy and Medhak in Telangana; 300 MW at Kurnool and Ananthpur in Andhra Pradesh and the rest 300 Mw at Solapur, Dhule and Parli in Maharashtra.
