Two offshore blocks in Mumbai have been found to contain both crude oil and natural gas, according to a statement from the state-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC). However, the Maharatna explorer omitted to describe the reserves. The blocks that the company obtained in
the most recent open acreage licencing rounds are where the discoveries "Amrit" and "Moonga" were made. ONGC, oil and gas have been discovered in the MBS171HAA-1 (MBS171HAA-A)-"AMRIT" OALP (Open Acreage Licencing Policy) block MB-OSHP-2017/1 in Mumbai Offshore (SW) on the Arabian Sea.
Another noteworthy find has been made in the OALP exploration block in Mumbai Offshore's MBS182HDA-1 (MBS182HDA-A) discovery, which goes by the moniker "Moonga." A thorough evaluation of the discoveries is being done, it continued.
Sushma Rawat, the director of exploration at ONGC, stated that the company has reiterated its exploration commitment to releasing the vast potential of India's hydrocarbon resources and accumulating reserves, strengthening the country's energy security.
