India's renewable energy market continues to gain momentum with NTPC commissioning the second and last 50 MW unit of the Shajapur Solar Project in Madhya Pradesh. The achievement contributes to the installed and commercial capacity of the NTPC Group to 77,461.50 MW. The project, according to a BSE filing, is a gigantic addition to cleaner energy. “Second and last part capacity of 50 MW out of 105 MW Shajapur Solar Project (Unit-I) in Shajapur Solar Park, M.P of NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) is declared on commercial operation,” the company stated.
The initial 55 MW phase was commissioned already on November 29, 2024, as NTPC's contribution to the renewable portfolio. NTPC REL, the joint venture of NTPC Limited, has spearheaded India's energy transition in the Ministry of Power. NTPC reaffirms its commitment to clean energy with the commissioning of this solar project, propelling India towards cleaner power generation.
As India gets closer to its ambitious renewable energy goals, NTPC's ongoing investment in solar power places it at the vanguard of the sector. Though joint ventures and subsidiaries are becoming increasingly in their sights, NTPC's expanding renewable capacity places it at the forefront of the nation's green energy future.
