NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL) received 15 renewable energy assets from the power company for a payment of Rs 10,066.99 crore, according to the power company. Also, a regulatory filing states that the business sold NGEL its whole ownership in NTPC Renewable Energy for Rs 731.17 crore. NTPC, a business transfer agreement signed on
July 8, 2022, has successfully transferred 15 renewable energy assets to NGEL, a wholly-owned subsidiary. Rs 10,066.99 crore in total was the compensation for the transfer of the 15 assets, it continued.
Further, the company completed the transfer of 100 per cent equity shareholding in NTPC Renewable Energy to NGEL through a share purchase agreement. The consideration for the stake transfer was Rs 731.17 crore and the pact was executed on July 8, 2022, as per the filing.
NTPC’s RE projects add up to 2,861 megawatts (MW), which includes 14 solar power projects of 2,811 MW and a wind power project of 50 MW. Out of the 15 projects, 13 projects (2,261 MW) are fully operational and the remaining 2 projects are partly operational (operational capacity 350 MW out of 600 MW) taking the Cumulative Operational Capacity to 2,611 MW as on date. These 15 RE projects have firm PPA tie-ups for 100 per cent capacities with State Discoms and CPSEs.
