Larsen & Toubro (L&T), its hydrocarbon business has obtained a letter of intent from a major Middle Eastern client for a massive onshore project valued at more than Rs 7000 crore. The work involves engineering, procurement and construction of gas compression plants consisting of gas inlet facilities, gas compression system, produced water handling, propane refrigeration system, condensate transfer and utilities for gas compression facilities in new onshore facilities and its integration with existing gas compression plants.
The Power Transmission & Distribution division of L&T Construction would build three 230 kV extra high voltage substations to meet the power needs of the gas compression plants, it was said. One doesn't get to win such an order every day, according to L&T Chairman & Managing Director SN Subrahmanyan. Since L&T is a truly Indian multinational, this is something special for L&T and something India should be proud of. This further demonstrates our capacity for performance and on-time delivery as well as the great confidence our customer places in us to handle such challenging projects.
