A memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the acquisition and sale of hydrogen at their refineries has been signed by the state-run Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) and Bharat
Petroleum Corporation (BPCL). From the firms, "This Agreement is a one-of-a-kind strategic relationship between two OMCs as a part of synergy for mutual aid during emergencies and towards environmental effect by limiting valuable hydrogen flaring."
In to maintain refinery operations and ensure ongoing product availability, this effort envisions cooperation and collaboration as a part of synergy in the areas of hydrogen exchange between the two refineries.
In order to generate HSD and MS streams that meet Bharat Stage VI standards, hydrogen must be used as a key utility. Hydrogen is also crucial for reliable and secure refinery operations.
