Essar Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Ltd. (EOGEPL), the industry leader in unconventional hydrocarbons (Coal Bed Methane) in India, announced on Thursday that it had partnered with Sensia, a top provider of digitalization solutions, to improve operations through the implementation of Sensia's Avalon digital platform interface. Through this strategic alliance, EOGEPL hopes to streamline measurement processes, improve decision-making, and enable remote control of vital parameters across its facilities, wells, and customer interface.
The Avalon platform from Sensia provides a thorough interface that makes it easier to record, analyse, and digitise processes connected to wells, facilities, and customers. The platform provides the real-time data capture of critical parameters, including data from power backup devices, gas and water flow, pressure, and mechanical, electrical, and other systems. Through the use of remote access and control, EOGEPL may monitor and modify vital well and facility parameters, enabling effective operations and pro-active decision-making. "We are thrilled with our collaboration with Sensia and the
deployment of their Avalon digital platform interface," stated Pankaj Kalra, CEO of EOGEPL, in response to the news. This collaboration marks a significant turning point in our digitalization process since it enables us to integrate measuring devices, improve decision-making, and remotely manage crucial operations parameters.
We are certain that by utilising innovative technologies, we will boost production, lower operating costs, and improve efficiency, reiterating our commitment to sustainable and efficient energy production. Drilling 350 wells as part of its Rs 5,000 crore exploration investment in the Raniganj block, EOGEPL. The company is also considering spending an additional Rs 2,000 crore to drill 200 more wells over the course of the following 18 to 24 months. The company is increasing production from 0.9 mmscd to 1.3 mmscd by using the most recent technology in the existing wells.
Real-time monitoring of the currently operational wells (BU-1 scope) has advanced significantly under the contractual relationship with Sensia, and monitoring of an additional 200 wells (BU-2 scope) is currently under way. By enabling remote operations and enhancing efficiency for production expansion plans in BU-2, the automation solution integrated into the work programme will support overall digitalization initiatives. The oil and gas industry will gain a lot from the partnership between EOGEPL and Sensia. The digitalization efforts will increase well performance by using a single interface to capture and monitor all crucial parameters, resulting in increased production and lower operating expenses. The automation solution's remote control capabilities will also simplify production processes and reduce the need for on-site staff, further improving efficiency and resource allocation.
In order to continue and grow its business, EOGEPL is dedicated to embracing cutting-edge technologies and creative solutions. In line with its commitment to fund R&D and enhance operations, the business recently disclosed its investment in microbial eCBM technology to increase CBM production. Reaching EOGEPL's goal of digital transformation and remote operations within the oil and gas industry is made possible by the relationship with Sensia.
