The state government of Chhattisgarh formed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) to build the region as a primary center for textile and apparel manufacturing. The collaboration works to create major economic growth for the state while creating numerous employment opportunities.
At the FAB Show held at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai presented the state's aspirations for its textile industry. "The MoU to establish the CMAI Textile and Apparel Facilitation Centre in Raipur will mark a milestone in boosting the textile sector in Chhattisgarh and open doors to investment opportunities," he said.
The recent backing from the state for the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) campus. With Rs 271 crore investment the NIFT campus will promote local talent, meeting the state's rich textile roots. CM Sai underscored the possibility of Bastar and Surguja's natural kosa cocoon for textile development. He mentioned that with institutions like NIFT and support from CMAI, the branding and promotion of handloom products will obtain a much-needed growth.
Chhattisgarh's latest industrial policy, merged with incentives for businesses in tribal areas, infrastructure advantages, and a skilled workforce, makes it an appealing destination for textile sector investments.
