Blue Dart, an express services operator, announced the launch of an integrated logistics hub in Bijwasan, Delhi, aimed at enhancing air and ground connectivity across northern India. Strategically located along the Dwarka Expressway, the facility is just 20 minutes from the Indira Gandhi International Airport and offers direct access to the airport, Indian Railways, metro corridors, and key national highways. This hub seamlessly integrates with the upcoming Gati Shakti Logistics Corridor, aligning with the government’s efforts to enhance multimodal logistics under the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan.
The 2.5 lakh sq ft facility is designed to strengthen freight movement and multimodal connectivity in the region. It also reflects Blue Dart’s commitment to sustainable logistics solutions. Speaking about the initiative, DHL Group CEO Tobias Meyer emphasized the increasing importance of sustainability in the logistics industry. He stated that the facility demonstrates the company's global commitment to efficient, low-carbon logistics solutions while supporting India’s growing economic potential.
A key sustainability feature of the facility is its 600-kW solar power installation, which helps minimize carbon emissions and promotes renewable energy practices. The logistics hub is also equipped for palletized cargo handling, with the capacity to manage over 5.5 lakh shipments daily, ensuring efficient inbound and outbound operations. Additionally, the automated systems installed at the facility facilitate precise and rapid sorting, reducing manual handling and optimizing resource utilization to meet the growing demands of businesses.
This facility represents a significant step toward modernizing India’s logistics infrastructure, combining efficiency, sustainability, and scalability to support the nation’s economic and environmental goals.
