Avaada Group completed its initial contract with the Maharashtra Government to establish two giant pumped storage hydro facilities totaling 3,600 MW capacity. The agreement marks an essential milestone for India to reach its goals in grid stability and green energy development.
The Pawana Falyan and Sirsala water reservoir facilities receive joint development funding worth Rs 15,100 crore from Avaada Group through a contract that will also generate more than 3,800 employment positions. The energy security condition in Maharashtra improves because these projects achieve daily renewable power output while connecting clean energy systems to established power networks.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated, "Maharashtra aims to become the Green Energy Hub of India. All signed MoUs must translate into swift execution on the ground, and the government will ensure complete support to developers to fast-track these transformational projects."
Avaada Group Chairman Vineet Mittal added, "This agreement is a decisive step towards securing India's clean energy future. Pumped storage solutions are pivotal for maintaining grid reliability and ensuring renewable energy availability round-the-clock."
The energy transition goals and the pursuit of net-zero emissions in India are supported by these recent developments. Through supportive policies and private sector involvement Maharashtra establishes itself as India’s leading state in renewable energy transformation efforts.
