The Industrial Cooling System Market size was valued at USD 15 billion in 2020 and is projected to expand at around 10% CAGR till 2027 according to GM Insights. The increasing investments in research & development activities have led to the development of energy-efficient cooling systems. The growing concerns about greenhouse gas emissions across the globe will surge the demand for energy- efficient systems. However, only having the needed manufacturing capabilities does not guarantee excellence in this industry.
The business ecosystem needs the kind of players who can not only meet all possible client requirements, but also stay well aware of the modern technologies that are disrupting the market in the cooling systems. Werner Finley from Bangalore is one of the experienced manufacturer and supplier of industrial cooling systems in India which always stays abreast with the modern technology trends in the market.
Viplov Rao, Director, Werner Finley says, “This is family owned company that was promoted and founded by my father in 1986. Currently, we manufacture in Bangalore and supply all over India and export as well.”
Eyes on Excellence
According to Viplov, the main differentiator between comfort cooling (HVAC application) and industrial refrigeration (process cooling
applications) are range and criticality. Industrial range varies from smaller to higher capacities and has a wide range of process cooling applications. He states, “We have chillers that go up to -40 degrees and we have chillers that have capacity of +25 degrees.
We have huge range of cooling solutions that cater to various applications across a broad spectrum of industries. Second is criticality. Various industrial processes and operations are highly dependent on cooling. If you take the example of healthcare sector, we provide chillers for MRI applications. In case the cooling stops, the scan cannot be completed. We see to it that the user gets 99 percent uptime from the machine and has extensive service network across India.”
The variety of cooling solutions provided by the company is more than any other domestic player in the market. It uses very limited number of components and creates different configurations using the same components and provides varied solutions to the customer. Werner Finley has a platform on which it builds various configurations of chillers so that they suit the specific needs of the client. Internally, it has standardized various operations to reduce operational complexities.

Future Projections
In the last 2-3 years, the company has been focusing on migrating to energy efficient solutions. Similar to inverter ACs for the domestic market, Werner Finley also has inverter-based technology which is up to 30 percent more energy efficient. Viplov concludes, “We are migrating all our products to energy efficient products and we are also educating the customers that these systems will be more profitable in the long run. In the coming 3-5 years, we would increase our product range to with most of the energy efficient solutions. Second is IoT application which we have already done for many of our projects where we are able to remotely monitor the systems installed.
Predictive maintenance can be done through these applications and increase the up time for the user and also reduce the service cost. Third is, we are continuously working on coming up with newer applications for cooling. We are also looking for opportunities in the EV sector. Fourth is that we are also focusing on exports and are already exporting to Middle East and Southeast Asian Countries and also sometimes to Europe.”
