As India’s logistics industry experiences unprecedented growth, Mumbai’s Bhiwandi region has become the epicenter of a supply chain revolution. Warehouses are springing up, and distribution networks are expanding at a breakneck pace. Yet, in a market saturated with competitors, only a few can rise above the rest. In this dynamic environment, one promising player has quietly emerged Premier Logistics and Warehousing (PLW), steadily overcoming obstacles and harnessing the momentum of the booming logistics sector to craft its own path to success.
Starting in 2016 with just 4,000 square feet of shared space and minimal initial investment, PLW has now expanded to 80,000 square feet. Despite constantly competing against established industry giants and relying on reinvested earnings for growth, the company has consistently increased its warehousing capacity every year. Besides, it has strategically focused on transportation to counter the intense warehousing price competition, ensuring a steady revenue stream and navigating the competitive landscape effectively.
PLW offers a diverse range of transportation services, including local, state-wide, and pan-India deliveries, as well as courier cargo services. “Logistics is an USP for us because we’ve built a robust network over the years.
The more challenging the transportation problem is, the better we are able to service our customers, vis-a-vis the competition”, highlights Pankaj Kulkarni, founder, who boasts over two decades of experience in the industry. The company’s ability to provide cost-effective and reliable transportation services has become a cornerstone of its operations, helping to retain clients and secure new business.
A testament to PLW’ success is its ongoing relationship with Delhivery and Blue Dart. Initially, these clients managed their own transportation, but the company negotiated better rates and delivered on its promises. “It was a significant achievement for us to grow during that period, and we continue to handle transportation for Delhivery and Blue Dart”, shares Pankaj, highlighting the company’s commitment to building long-term client relationships based on trust and reliability.
PLW takes a meticulous approach to client engagement, beginning with a thorough understanding of the client’s business operations, product specifics, and growth areas. The team familiarizes itself with the SKUs and handles the stock with utmost care, immediately reporting any discrepancies or damages to the client. This attention to detail ensures that clients receive accurate, timely services, enhancing satisfaction and reducing complaints to a rare occurrence.
We have supported our customers through good times and bad, and the customers have equally reciprocated by trusting us with increasing business volumes
PLW prides itself on its commitment to fulfilling orders on the same day, provided they are received before a specified deadline. This operational efficiency, coupled with a near-perfect track record of zero stock discrepancies and undamaged goods during transportation, sets the company apart in a crowded market. “We have supported our customers through good times and bad, and the customers have equally reciprocated by trusting us with increasing business volumes”, Pankaj proudly notes.
The company is committed to delivering exceptional service, which has led existing clients to request its support in new locations, with one client, for instance, asking for services in Delhi. It responded by launching operations in Delhi and now plans to expand to Chennai, Patna, and Kolkata by the end of this year. “We are in discussions with our clients in Mumbai and Delhi to help us expand our services to these new locations”, adds Pankaj. With a reputation for reliability and customer satisfaction, PLW is poised to continue its trajectory of growth, expanding its reach across India and redefining standards in supply chain management.
