More than two lakh suggestions were received by the Ministry of HRD when the draft was uploaded in public domain to receive and understand the feedback from various stakeholders aligned with the draft. A senior HRD Ministry official said, "The policy draft has been approved and the Ministry has been renamed as the Education Ministry."
In the draft NEP 2019, Several reforms measures have been proposed so as to bring efficiency in the better functioning of the ministry.
This new education policy is the part of BJP’s manifesto which was formulated for the general election of 2014. And if we talk about the NEP, it was framed in 1986 and was further revised in the year of 1992.
Today, more than three decades have passed since the amendment of previous Policy, and the country has seen numerous changes taking place in our society, country, economy, and also across the world.
Hence it was necessary for the education sector to gear itself so as to cater to the demands of the 21st century by strongly catering to the needs and requirements of the people and the country.
