Prime Minister’s visions of Aatma Nirbhar Bharat, Digital India, and Make in India are significantly gaining momentum, today. In relation to that, Hon’ble Minister of Railways and Commerce & Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal has been working on various schemes to accelerate Aatma Nirbhar Bharat mission to its optimum. To grow the inner strength of the country, IRCTC and SBI Card came together to launch their new Co-branded Contactless Credit Card on RuPay Platform. This new credit card was fully focused towards the service of the nation.
Shri Piyush Goyal stated for the same occasion, “We are strongly committed in making Railways ‘Aatma Nirbhar’ in all the fields with ‘Make In India’ initiatives as envisaged by Hon’ble Prime Minister. The IRCTC SBI co-branded card working on RuPay Platform is one of the many “Make In India” activities undertaken by the Railways.”
This new RuPay credit card is equipped with Near Field Communication (NFC) technology which will be aimed at enabling a secured transaction environment for the customers. By just tapping the card on the machines the users can expedite their transactions at the POS machines without having to swipe the card.
This co-brand credit card will also reward travellers who frequently use the railway. And, not only this, the passengers can also save a great amount of money on their travel with exclusive benefits that will include dining, entertainment, benefits on retail, and as well as transaction fee waivers.
If the bookings are made at IRCTC website for 1st AC, 2nd , AC, 3rd AC, executive chair car and AC chair car, the card holders will receive a value back of 10 percent.
Moreover, the card holders will also get an online transaction fee waiver which will be one percent of the transaction amount, 1 percent of fuel surcharge waiver, and also 4 premium lounge free access at any railway station one per quarter in a year. Upon the activation of the card with a minimum spend, the users will also receive 350 bonus reward points which later can be redeemed. Furthermore, not only does the IRCTC SCI card offer rewards on the purchase of the tickets from IRCTC’s ticketing website, but they will also get several benefits across many online shopping portals.
This move from the Government will be fully aligned with the Digital India mission,and will ensure convenience, safety, and improvement in travel experience for the rail passengers.
