Cognizant has been bringing back its employees across various cities - Pune, Hyderabad and Chennai - back to offices in a phased manner and has said that it will bring back those employees who would be requiring office infrastructure and for those who will be handling confidential contracts.
Cognizant spokesperson said, “We will open our offices in accordance with directives from local authorities and will continue to closely monitor the situation. Only skeleton staff will work from offices, as required. All other employees continue to work from home.”
The company has also said, “As we take our next steps in transitioning back to the office, based on business criticality, offices in Chennai have been identified to reopen in the coming weeks.”

Meanwhile, Infosys who are their cross-town rival had already resumed operations with 15 percent of its employees back in May. Infosys is also bringing back its employees to offices in a phased manner.
Also, Tata Consultancy Services management has said that they would be bringing back 5 percent of its employees to work in the ongoing second quarter.
The company has stated, “Only those who are delivering services that cannot be delivered remotely because of high dependence on office infrastructure and networks, or those who have client, information security and confidentiality considerations, will be invited to return to the office.“
If we look at Cognizant revenue forecast, the company had withdrawn its 2020 revenue for the month of February, where it has forecasted a 2 percent - 4 percent growth in constant currency for the financial year 2020 keeping in mind the uncertainties that has been created by COVID-19 crisis.
If we speak about the company, Cognizant has been growing exponentially than most of the IT company counterparts, and similarly, its revenue has crossed many of the Indian IT companies - Infosys Technologies and Wipro Technologies, among others.
