Aroma chemicals manufacturing in India is prospering at a steady pace of 25 percent each year. Although there have been setbacks in the business ecosystem owing to aftershocks of the pandemic, numerous newer opportunities have opened up at the same time. China, a primary manufacturing hub, is gradually getting side-lined, which is opening up larger scopes of development for the manufacturers based in India - including the aromatic chemical segment. Furthermore, newer applications of these chemicals are also gaining exposure even in the small towns and villages of the country with an increase in internet accessibility.
However, one of the major challenges faced by clients in this industry was transporting and using liquid-based aromatic chemicals. As such chemicals are at the core in the production process of major B2B products, such chemicals were needed to deliver in a form that was beneficial to the client. Zenith Aromas from Gujarat has stepped in and filled that gap by manufacturing these chemical products in powder-based form, solving a major problem of its clients.
Mahesh Shah, MD, Zenith Aromas states, “We are empowered with state of the art infrastructure clubbed with requisite technology. Our in-house manufacturing unit is equipped with the latest
pieces of machinery and equipment. All the pieces of machinery are kept under the supervision of expert technicians who rectify errors. The company adopts various strategic measures to access the market demands and upcoming trends. We follow stringent quality procedures per international standards to keep a check on every step of the manufacturing process. Added to that, we have a wide network of distributors and marketing professionals across the globe to ensure on-time delivery of products”.
The Growth Story
The industry of aroma chemicals have gained far-reaching acceptance over the past years, so has Zenith Aromas. The company started with only one product called the PCPA, primarily delivered to perfumers and incense sticks manufacturers across the country but as time went by and along with the internet penetration, the applications of these chemicals grew wide scale. Today, the company caters to multiple industries that manufacture perfumes, room fresheners, personal hygiene products like soap, sanitisers, lotions etc.
After the success of its first chemical product, Zenith Aromas started dealing in other kinds of aroma chemicals namely YaraYara and Rose Crystal - both of them have been a subject of great appreciation by the clients. Moreover, the powdered form of these products allows better handling and hassle-free delivery.

Mahesh mentions, “Currently, we are manufacturing and supplying all our three products. We can manufacture 10 tonnes of PCPA, 20 tonnes of Yara Yara and 20 tonnes of Rose Crystal each month. 60 to 70 per cent of our products are exported to American and European countries and we are in the process of further capturing more share in the global market”.
Future Projections
The company is aggressively increasing its manufacturing capacities and looking out for more and more opportunities in the global market, especially the European market. But, new lines of certifications have been made mandatory for the export expansion to Europe. Hence, Zenith is in the process of attaining all such certifications and stepping a strong foot towards expanding into the European market.
