Forging is crucial for every other industrial segment. This alone has been the most significant factor in the growth of the forging industry today. But as every industry based on its fundamentals and their markets have different expectations from a forging company, there are still many unorganized players in the market who lack robust facilities and size range that can cater to the rapidly growing demand from a client’s industry.
Furthermore, these clients are still dependent on multiple suppliers for open, closed and ring rolled forging respectively; thus making the operations inefficient. Instead of buying components from multiple suppliers, every client today wants to partner with a vendor who can stay parallel with the changes and meet the ever changing demand.
This is where Western India Forgings (WIFPL) has an edge in the market as a one stop forging shop that caters to every expectation of its clients. The company holds the needed competency in offering Open Die, Closed Die and Ring Rolled forgings and products right from 1 kg to 10000 kg all under one roof. The company leverages its decades of experience in offering its clients best-in-class forged components on time.
This is backed by the company’s strong raw material supplier base with excellent relationships which enable them to get timely delivery of quality material. Moreover, with its state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities and robust systems in
place, they are perfectly positioned in the market to successfully cater to both domestic and international clients.
“Quality along with consistency and reliability are the key factors in setting us apart, besides the proactive relationship we have with our customers over the last nearly four decades. Needless to say the export customers are more demanding on the Health, Safety and Environment aspect of the industry. So even if you have the best Quality systems in place, no overseas customer will approve you unless we pass their HSE Audit,” highlights Arun K Jindal, Chairman & Managing Director at WIFPL.
“We have well-documented Quality Systems ISO-9001 2015 & IATF -16949 2016 (For Automotive) in place, to meet the exacting requirements of our esteemed clients. We also are API 20B & API 20C certified which is purely for the Oil & Gas Industry along with certification from 3RD Party agencies like ABS/IRS/PED and environmental/health and safety certifications like ISO-14001 2015 & ISO-45001 2018,” he adds.

Staying Abreast of Technology Advancements
WIFPL is continuously upgrading its infrastructure over time to stay abreast of the technology advancements and enhance each and every process that goes in making the final forging. They have integrated the latest machines in their tool room, design, cutting, forging, heating, heat treatment, shot blasting and final inspection to ensure quality is delivered. Also, there are only three companies in India to add Robotic Die Welding to reduce cost of dies and increase the accuracy of the die welding.
“With the unutilized capacity presently at our largest plant located at Sanaswadi, we are ramping up capacity by debottle necking, low and high cost automation and changing product mix. Further due to one of our plants located at Kharadi, a residential area, we were not allowed to run more than 1 shift, due to noise and air pollution, we acquired land of 15 acres along with ready shed at Shikrapur where the machineries have now been installed. This plant is now fully operational and will help us to increase production at least 3 times.
We are further increasing capacity by installing hammers and presses in the current year. With this expansion plan, we expect to increase our tonnage by at least 50 percent in the next 2-3 years,” concludes Arun.
