The last few years have continued to see an increase in the demand for animal protein worldwide, including for poultry, dairy and aqua. Generally, we have seen a growth of production particularly in the developing world, with the developed world remaining more or less stable. The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) estimates that by 2050 the demand for food will grow by 60 percent and that between 2010 and 2050 production of animal proteins is expected to grow by around 1.7 percent per year, with meat production projected to rise by nearly 70 percent, aquaculture by 90 percent and dairy by 55 percent. This already marks a growth factor of almost two, however if we were to extrapolate the growth rates of the last forty years forward to 2050, this would in theory quadruple the needs.
“We are optimistic on the Indian Poultry Production trends. While we have seen an impact of CoVID-19 throughout the industry even before CoVID had hit India because of false rumours regarding consumption of meat and egg. The industry was impacted with lower placement, less feed production and crash in market prices. However, this has also been an opportunity for all of us since the industry started aggressively promoting benefits of consuming meat, milk and egg to improve immunity. The current consumer trends also demand for safe food with responsible usage of antibiotics, processed chicken and utilization of digital technology/IoT platforms to improve efficiency and productivity.”, states Dr. Saurabh Shekhar, General Manager (South Asia), Nutreco.

The company offers a comprehensive suite of innovative solutions that seamlessly integrate with the product. The company proffers its unique mobile solution, NuriOpt Onsite Adviser (NOA), as a package to its customers to conduct an onsite analysis of the raw materials and their finished products in minutes and provide quality nutritional solutions. This enables customers to make quicker and betterinformed decisions on farm and feed mill. The robust mobile application is a part of the NuriOpt platform– an innovative digital platform that encompasses raw material data, least cost formulation, feeding programmes, nutritional insights and system optimization to support sustainable precision farming.
“Same goes for mycotoxins in the milk, feed and raw materials. We have a solution called Mycomaster where you can get the raw material, feed or milk sample tested within minutes. The customer will be able to view the aflatoxin levels in the milk, feed or raw material which helps the feed millers and integrators to control the quality on their end,” adds Dr. Saurabh. The Toxo range of products which is one of the leading aflatoxin binders with maximum aflatoxin binding capacity can be implemented to significantly reduce the toxin impact.
