We are a “market driven” R&D company. What our customers need and ask for is what we Develop
How do you see the current Industrial Gaskets Market evolving in India? What are the major factors driving this market growth?
Carlos: India has a good market size for Industrial gasket. We estimate it to be on the 800Cr range and it has been growing as India’s economy expands. The market is still dominated by low quality products and even asbestos based materials, but we see a strong push recently towards high end products that require less maintenance.
How is Teadit India positioned in this market?
Carlos: We try to fill an existing gap on the market for premium products with technical support in the end user, be it for product specification, product installation or torque calculations. Our strategy is to focus on customer service, with fast deliveries and strong engineering solutions that will have a positive effect on our environment. We are committed to find the best solutions for our clients and we are proud of the role we are playing in the society while doing so. We must make a stand for our environment for the future generations that will follow us.
How has the company been successful in establishing the name as a global brand by becoming one of the major suppliers for industrial sealing applications worldwide?
Carlos: We hold Global Contracts with Refinery, Chemical and Petro-Chemical Companies. Where implemented, we are helping our partners meet the increasingly difficult demands to reduce emissions, extend product life cycles and lower total ownership costs. We are well established abroad, and our Indian plant is the “youngest” in the group. Our wide range of sealing products enables us to provide our customers the best solution to fit their needs and not being limited to choose within only oneor two material options.
We are THE technical reference today in all our product lines: Our expanded PTFE is known to be the only FDA material that can also seal at very low seating stresses. Our Tealon line is a success in Papermills and Chemical Plants worldwide and our Low Emission Packings is a market leader with an API 622 3rd Edition qualification with less than 2ppm. I do not know any other manufacturer globally with such accomplishments all together!
Elucidate on the capabilities of your production area, laboratories, office and warehouse space. How has it been ensuring the deliverability of best-in-class products?
Carlos: We have a state of the art facility in Vadodara, Gujarat where we manufacture Metallic Gaskets and Braided Packings. We recently set up a testing lab that is able to test valves with Methane according to API standards. Our lab is also equipped with a high tonnage test rig for Methane seal ability evaluation of Metal Gaskets as per ASME B16.20 new requirements. This ability to have a laboratory next to the plant give us a unique advantage for product development, and quality control and puts us closer to our customers that are always welcomed in our facilities.
In what ways has the company been leveraging technology to offer best in class products in the market today?
Carlos: We are a “Market Driven” R&D company. What our customers need and ask for is what we develop. Innovation and Technology is part of our DNA. This year we have already two patents published being one in India of Laminar Seals for triple off-set butterfly valves and another in the US for nano-tagging materials in its composition allowing for full traceability even after the product has been used and exposed to chemical agents. We believe technology is key in combining product and service to give our customers a unique value proposition and with the value proposition being directed by our customers, it shows our commitment to them.
What is the future roadmap for Teadit Packing & Gaskets? How is the company gearing up for the same?
Carlos: We are true believers of the Make in India initiative and have settled here to be a part of it. Our plant is equipped with leading edge equipment and we own the best technology available to provide competitive solutions but none of that matters if you do not have the right team. We are a company that believes in people and the contribution each individual can make to the business. We have worked hard studying, training, evolving to the winning team we have today. People are the true pillars of our success and without them it would be impossible to achieve our bold plan to double in size on the next 3 years.
