Manufacturing companies in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) have been seeing positive growth as a result of the rising tourism industry and the transition to a non-oil-reliant economy. As a result, there is an increasing number of construction projects in which relay control and automation panels, and distribution panels are key components.
Speaking of which, System House Factory for Electric Panels (SEP) is a prominent ISO-certified, Aramco and SEC-approved manufacturer of relay, control, automation, and distribution panels. Industry Outlook magazine recently engaged with Niaz Hussain Panhwar, Business Development Manager at SEP, to know more about the firm’s success story. Let's hear from him.
What are the flagship products and solutions offered by your company? How are they different from other products and solutions in the market?
SEP is well known in the market for devising best-in-class relay control panels (380 Kv), automated metering infrastructure (380 Kv), and the substation automation system. Today, we are a leading ISO-certified, Aramco and Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) approved manufacturer. SEP has developed a substation automated system in collaboration with a reputable company to serve National Grid and as well as Aramco. This is due to the seasoned experts that SEP has to execute and show the capability in front of the end user. SEP became the first locally approved system integrator for substation telecom. We have created a niche in the market with a focus on catering to Saudi Electricity companies and the Digital Grid.

As the quality of the product and service delivery is the utmost priority, we are strict in devising quality products with prompt service delivery which is backed by a team of seasoned professionals. We are competing with global companies, so we are very much focused on complying with international quality standards.
We carried out a thorough quality check right through procuring raw materials to supply the finished products. So, each and every step of production is well-defined with robust methodologies in place.
With a perfect amalgamation of people, processes, and technology, we have always stayed ahead of the curve. We follow the Engineer to Order (ETO) approach where a product is engineered and produced after an order has been received. This helps us in devising tailor-made products to meet every given client’s requirements.
Please walk us through the complete cycle of your client engagement process.
We are in a very niche market where all the manufacturers and vendors in this market are approved by National Grid. Our main interaction is with EPC companies, but we are also catering directly to the end user which is the Saudi Electricity Company and Aramco among others. On the front end, we have an expert sales and marketing team who are always on their toes to help with any given query of the customers.
So, once we have received any RFQ, we have a tendering team that will evaluate and gives feedback to the customer about what would be the best way to take the project forward. Our team submits pre and post-bid clarifications. Once we have the project secured, we have a dedicated project management team that drives all the functional departments to meet the project timeline. Further, we have one of the largest fleets which enable us to develop an all-encompassing network to cater to our clients in the most productive and efficient manner.

We have well seasoned long term employees. I have been working here for more than 13 years in this company. We have a great retention level due to the culture and transparency we have in our organization. We believe in growing our company in tandem with the growth of our employees. with the people. So when you have the right team, things get sorted, no matter how big the challenge comes.
What is the future roadmap of your company? Are you working on any innovations for your products?
In the current times, there has been great disruption due to the changing market dynamics. As there is an ongoing process of digital solicitation, we also have this in our pipeline.
We are also planning to enter the medium voltage switchgear business. Recently, we acquired a factory which was operated by ABB with an area of 53,000 square meters. We are in the process of transferring ourselves from the existing plant to this new plant. Further, we tested our switchboard. This is a significant milestone as there are only a few of them that have the internal app-tested assemblies.
