The Indian animal health market touched a value of Rs. 67.83 billion in 2021 and is anticipated to rake in the worth of Rs.114.12 billion by 2027, exhibiting a CAGR of 9.52 percent during the period from 2022 to 2027. The exponential growth of the veterinary pharmaceutical industry and increased government investments are the major drivers of growth in the animal health market. However, the companies who dominate the domestic marketspace are mostly foreign companies or subsidiaries of overseas animal health brands pointing to the lack of native players providing global standard health solutions for farm animals. This is where Stallen South Asia Private Limited, a homegrown collective for animal health products has emerged to offer quality animal health support across the country dimming the predominant influence of offshore solution providers.
Stallen is one of the most renowned animal health companies in India that offers a plethora of poultry and cattle products segmented into four divisions. These four categories are feed additives, biosecurity products, formulations, and vaccines. The company started its journey in 1997 in collaboration with Stallen AG Switzerland. Later in 2010, they joined hands with Fatro S.P.A., Italy to import and distribute their killed and live vaccines.
After establishing a brand name for itself through successful partnerships and deep domain experience over two decades, Stallen set up its factory in Canada in 2018 along with a state-of-art manufacturing facility for feed additives at Palghar in 2016. Headquartered in Mumbai, Stallen has strengthened its field presence globally by extending its export operations to over 45 countries.

Stallen offers an extensive range of cattle and poultry products including antibacterial, antimycoplasmal, de-wormers, performance enhancers, anthelmintic, mineral mixtures, toxin binders, antidiarrheals, growth promoters, anticoccidial, water sanitizer, fly control products, disinfectants, and the range of Fatro vaccines. Their products range revolves around poultry, livestock, aquaculture, pets, and equine. Along with distributing Fatro vaccines, they leverage Fatro’s expertise to aid in the well-being of animals. Their broad variety of vaccines is efficient in preventing several diseases such as new cattle disease, infectious bronchitis, mycoplasma disease, coryza, and many more.

Future Endeavours
Stallen is dedicated to innovation and consistent research to safeguard animal health and contribute to environmental harmony. They are planning to start production at their new formulations plant by the end of 2022. The plant is currently awaiting approval from US FDA. “We want to start manufacturing some unique combinations and formulations for the Indian market as well as for the export market. And in the next coming months or years, we want to increase our vaccine portfolio. Currently, we offer a majority of only killed vaccines. So, we are looking into the possibility of adding some live vaccines as well”, Parikh concludes.
