Roadmap Ahead
It is expected that there will be a stronger shift towards sustainable products and processes - reduction of water, power (electrical and thermal energy) and others. Process optimization, product re-engineering, newer molecules will be introduced through a higher investment in R&D leading to more sustainable processing of various fibres. Technical textile, and manmade/synthetic fibre related products should grow at a higher rate than natural fibres. Constant drive from brands to reduce costs, which has a domino effect on all down-stream suppliers.
“The road map for the future for SF is to become a stronger player in export markets, and to add to its chemical range through technical collaborations with international / domestic MNCs. In a paradigm shift, we view the industry to be ready for some revolutionary changes over the next few decades where not only the dyes and chemical industry will see a new playing field emerge, but the entire textile value chain - Field to Consumer, will witness a change driven by sustainability”, concludes the MD.
